Conrad Wolfram Cheap Fut Coins one of the Wolfram brothers behind the WolframAlpha knowledge engine, has Fifa 14 Coins PS4 laid out a startling reimagining of the way maths is taught in the UK in a talk at TEDGlobal 2010.
Titled Stop teaching calculating, start teaching math, Wolfram proposed a future where pupils no longer need to be able to add up, relying instead on computers to do the dirty calculation work. Calculating is the machinery of math, he said, It's a means to an end.
Instead, Wolfram wants to see a curriculum where the focus is on posing the right question, turning it into a form that a computer can understand, letting it do its work, and then turning the output back into something applicable to real life. Maths should be more practical and more conceptual, but less mechanical, he argued.
